Trans-century Tradition

Lux Theatre is a theatre located at Bulkeley Street, Hung Hom, that has been serving for more than 40 years. It is the only theater that still uses the traditional method of booking tickets by hand. The nostalgic scent of the theater attracted the film shooting of “I Love Hong Kong 2013”.

Red Vintage Weighing Machine

The ticket hall in the theatre retains the characteristics of a traditional 1970s theatre. The building is dominated by numerous white light tubes and marble walls. There is also an old-fashioned weighing machine at $2 per ticket. The theatre is also equipped with an old cinema projector, which provides us a chance to reminisce about the history of the old theatre.

Advance with the Times

The theatre currently has only one cinema. In 2012, it was fully renovated with new seats, screens and sound system. Digital projection system has also been introduced and the latest Master Image 3D device from Korea has been adopted to display high quality 3D films.
